Virginia Lacayo always wanted to fight for social justice
Virginia Lacayo grew up surrounded by war and poverty. This upbringing caused her to always consider what it takes to change environments and fight for social justice.
In Nicaragua, where Dr. Lacayo is from, considering the tribe and fighting for the common good is how people think. Therefore it was natural for her to pursue her graduate studies in systemic change and human behavior. Since she was involved in social movements from a young age, she always knew she would contribute back to society.
What makes a system change?
Her studies led her to ask, what makes a system change? She discovered that there are two ways: through external forces or from within.
An external force can shock a system and force change. To change a system internally means that one has to change the conditions that establish the pattern of interactions of the elements within the system. Changes in actions lead to changes in visions, which cause changes in the way we interact with the world.
Today, Virginia uses her expertise as the co-founder and CEO of Massive, a coaching practice that helps business leaders use their positions to take on systemic change. Simply put–she helps solopreneurs change the world.
How you can change the world
Virginia has discovered that businesses can contribute to systemic change in a positive way. By changing your mindset and living out a purpose and mission that are directed toward the common good you can use your business to change the world.
Align your mission, vision, and purpose to intentionally help the world and the rest will fall into place. If you are working from a place of purpose and intentionality, profitability will follow.
People, now more than ever, understand that they can exercise change with their wallets. The consumer is driving market forces and causing businesses to rethink their models. Now, businesses must demonstrate their values to consumers.
Listen in to hear how you can become a thought leader turn your business toward activism and contribute to making the world a better place while helping your business thrive. I challenge you to listen to this episode to get inspired to make a change.
