Tami discovered business coaching after seeking more control over her career
Tami Jaffe wasn’t always a successful business coach; she started her career as a CPA in the corporate world. After working her way up the corporate ladder, a bumpy restructuring process with her Fortune 100 company made her realize that she wasn’t the one in control of her own career. This pivotal moment caused her to rethink her life and career.
This change in mindset caused Tami to reach out to her network and explore new leads. At first, she simply wanted to replace her income and get out of the corporate grind, but once she caught the entrepreneurial spirit, she knew that she could finally control her own destiny.
Learning to focus her energy and increase productivity was a key to Tami’s success
Tami started building her coaching business on the side while working full-time with two small kids at home. This experience taught her how to focus her energy on what was important. She learned how to use her time wisely and delegate while increasing her own productivity. This learning curve caused her to become more intentional with her time in any circumstance.
Starting anything new means that you are a beginner which is why you need expert help
The first time you start anything you don’t know what you are doing which is why it is important to listen to people who have come before you and learn from their expertise. Thankfully, Tami has plenty of experience helping new business owners get their businesses up and running. She has 3 tips to share with new solopreneurs.
Don’t get sidetracked with shiny objects – As a new business owner, it is easy to get caught up with all the distractions that the internet throws at you. You can quickly fall into the trap of buying all the trainings, programs, or whatever else you may think might help your business. Instead of getting distracted, establish strong foundations and get clear about what problem you are trying to solve. This way you can have productive sales conversations and focus on what is right for your business.
Niche down – When first starting out it can be easy to take money from anyone that will hand it to you, but it is important to find the right clients by focusing on your niche. You don’t want to bring on clients that aren’t a good fit for your business. Go back to the problem you are trying to solve and think about who has that specific problem. These are your people.
Make decisions with clarity – Once you know the problem you want to solve and who you want to solve it for, it is time to hone in on clarity. Start asking yourself the right questions and your clarity will grow. Listen in to hear what kind of questions you should be asking yourself and others so that you can grow your business the right way. Once you gain clarity you’ll be able to push yourself forward and get over the obstacles that are in your way.
