Danute continues to teach resilience and self-trust through her new book
You may remember hearing Danute Debney Shaw’s voice from a previous episode in which we discussed how to make great decisions. Since then, Danute has been promoting her book and supporting her clients and others as they learn how to handle challenges, opportunities, and risks by teaching resilience and self-trust.
How to decide what’s next
In order to propel yourself forward, you need to assess where you are now by analyzing where you have come from. You can do this by asking yourself a series of questions.
Take the opportunity to periodically step back and consider what has (and has not) happened recently. Find time to reflect monthly, quarterly, or semi-annually on what has been working and why. Consider how you accomplished all that you did. This type of periodic exercise stimulates mental agility while you take stock of your past successes and failures.
Digging deeper
To dig in deeper think about how you approached your efforts during this period of time. How have your efforts in business affected your health or family life? What should you keep doing and how can you keep moving forward? What do you need to do to transform? You may have many other questions that arise as part of this exploration.
Look back on your goals. What parts of your previous goals were you able to accomplish? How did you accomplish them? What worked and what didn’t? What can you capture or modify to move forward?
Where do you stand with your commitment and effort to your goals? What were your expectations as you worked to achieve your goal? Were they realistic or unrealistic?
What opportunities did you act upon? Do you need any type of assistance to reach your new goals? Do you need more resources or information? Don’t be afraid of seeking either temporary or permanent assistance. This assistance could take the form of a course, a consultant, or external help.
Gain a better understanding of what to do next
Depending on your evaluations your changes will naturally come forward. These analyses will help you gain a better understanding and appreciation of what you need to be in a position to make informed decisions.
Listen in to hear how important it is to respond rather than react. Danute provides the listener with case studies, personal anecdotes, and excellent advice. Make sure to press play to hear her insight.
