Alee’s story
Everyone’s story is evolving. Alee began her career as an actuary and enjoyed it for two decades. Then one day she asked herself what else she would like to be doing. She discovered that mentoring and coaching were really what she wanted to do. She opened her own business in 2020 to help her navigate where she wanted to be.
Today Aree Bly is a success coach, speaker, and author of The Sustainable Brain. As a solopreneur, she is dedicated to empowering other actuaries to create fulfilling and sustainable careers and lives. Aree’s unique analytical approach focuses on personal growth while helping individuals navigate their unique paths to sustainable success. Listen in to learn how she decided to write her book.
Use your own data to change your life
It is important to know who you are to make changes in your life. You are influenced by all your past experiences while your core values are the same. How you display those values changes over time.
As an actuary, Aree is hard-wired to be analytical. This means that she regularly reflects on learning about herself from past experiences.
She uses the data from her life to help her get off of autopilot so that she can see the processes that helped her achieve her successes.
We often forget that there was a process we followed to achieve past successes. If you intentionally follow those processes they can lead you into your next chapter. This is how she has learned to move forward in her own life and how she shows others how to move forward in her book.
Learn how you can get unstuck by pressing play.
Intentionality is the middle ground
The beauty of being a solopreneur is that you get to consistently ask yourself and decide where you want to be and if what you are doing is still what you want to do. As you reintroduce yourself regularly you get to become intentional about who you are and what you want to be.
The subtitle of her book is How to Chart Your Path with Intention. That’s because she finds that intentionality is key. Intentionality is the middle ground between being strategic in working toward your goals and drifting along without direction.
It’s never too late to choose intentionality. Choosing the path of intentionality allows you to focus on the journey rather than the destination.
