How Anastasia became a representative for podcast speakers
Anastasia worked in high-end international tourism planning events and conferences for years before the bottom fell out of that industry in 2008. While unemployed, she used her expertise in sales and marketing to help a local farmer friend spread his message by booking him at various local speaking events. This presented the opportunity to begin representing other small business owners in their quest to find speaking engagements.
Like many business owners, in March of 2020, Anastasia had to pivot and shift her business model from booking in-person events to online. This unexpected change opened the doors to the world of online speaking events and podcasting.
At first, Anastasia’s clients were hesitant to make the shift to online speaking, but once they realized that the world was changing, they embraced the new way to spread their message. Now Anastasia’s clients reap the benefits of the podcasting’s evergreen content as a way to reach new audiences.
What to do once you decide to go on podcasts
Podcasts are powerful digital marketing tools that are a way to spread your influence and visibility while enhancing your credibility. If you haven’t been using this powerful medium as a way to spread your message, now is a great time to start.
Before you get started it is important to understand your ideal customer avatar. Who do you serve? Who is your optimal podcast listener? What kind of keywords do they use?
Next, gain clarity in your messaging. Use your customer avatar to create a message that speaks to them. Your message should resonate with them and you should market in the space where they spend time.
Now it’s time to start researching podcasts. Use keywords that your ideal client would use to search for appropriate podcasts. Listen in to hear what the best podcast search engine is and specific tips to use while researching podcasts.
Once you’ve found a few, listen to them before pitching. As you listen, consider whether you enjoy the flow of the episodes and conversations. You’ll also want to ensure that the podcast is still active and includes guests.
How to reach out to podcasters
Rather than simply emailing the podcaster, most podcasters have a form on their website that potential guests can use to apply to be a guest.
Listen in to hear which elements to include to build the ideal one-sheet to send out to potential podcast hosts. Anastasia provides so many golden nuggets of information so you won’t want to miss out on all these tips if you are looking to appear on podcasts as a way to boost your reach.
